HTML or HyperText Markup Language is a formatting language used to create Web pages. It uses instructions called tags that specify the format of a Web page. Your Web browser interprets the HTML tags to display the Web page on your screen.

You can create a Web page using a Web editor, which is a special word processor designed to create Web pages. You can use your favorite word processor if it has the capability to convert a document into a Web page. You can also type in the text and HTML tags yourself.

After creating and saving your Web page, you can view it in your Web browser. Finally, you can use FTP to upload your Web page to a Web server. You must have access rights to the Web server in order to upload and download files.
